Customer Reviews
PROS:
  • Perfect for work laptops as such, or any Ivy Bridge / Haswell notebook with non-K or locked bios as you won’t be able to run faster than 1600 on 90% or more laptops in use. These are higher quality, and more expensive ICs on these modules, worth the extra couple bucks if you’re going for 16GB from something less, although the lower latency from traditional CL11/CL13 doesn’t make that huge of an improvement to make the jump if you already have 16GB, but if you’re running shared graphics, IE Intel HD4000 or HD5000, or similar, lower latencies have about a 5-7% impact on graphics, and around 1-2% impact on everything else, for an extra couple bucks vs the cheaper stuff.
  • Bought this to go into an Ativ7 ultrabook.Easy install and worked immediately. Gives fantastic speed and enough capacity to run a number vms dedicated to video encoding. I am very pleased. The Win8 experience index on RAM with this installed is: 7.5 up from the 7.2 on the 4GB single module it ships with.
  • I have a 13″, Mid 2012 Intel i5 Macbook Pro 500 GB Toshiba HDD.This model Macbook pro does run on DDR3 ram, however DDR3L is a lower voltage ram, meaning less heat, and saves energy (every bit counts when it comes to saving as your mac is about to die). I don’t know if my mac can run it at the lower voltage, but this ram and other DDR3L ram is backwards compatible.

CONS:
  • I have two identical laptops and a memory intensive custom application that routinely utilizes close to the max available memory during execution. Tried replaced slow spec HP factory memory with in both machines and comparing the application logs with the Vengeance Performance memory with the HP factory memory with much slower specs…..had virtually identical performance on every benchmark on both machines…..and the app is doing mainly memory resident array manipulation…..bottom line…premium was a waste of money for us.
  • I have bought this 16GB RAM Kit to upgrade the memory of my HP Elitebook 820 G1 notebook to 16GB from 4GB. I am running Windows 10 Enterprise with a Kingston 250GB SSD drive. The packaging of the memory modules was great and installation was seamless on my laptop. Just removed the back cover and just added each RAM module to its designated port (see image). The laptop booted fine and I was using it for 10 minutes until the BSOD came on and performed a reboot. The error I got was from SYSTEM_MANAGEMENT and it seems that one out of the two modules was malfunctioning. I replaced the modules with a different brand and it works fine now.
