The JBL Clip+ Splashproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a light, rugged, splashproof portable speaker. It allows you to stream music wirelessly from any Bluetooth-enabled device, and also has a hands-free speakerphone function. You can also plug it into any portable device via the 3.5mm integrated audio cable. The built-in carabiner allows you to hook it to clothing or a backpack. The Clip+ Speaker affords five hours of battery power so you can take the music with you wherever you go.

On tracks with intense sub-bass content, like The Knife’s “Silent Shout,” the modest-sized Clip+ runs into the typical issues you expect for a mono, 3.2-watt driver. There’s the tiniest hint of distortion at top volumes (which is more or less par for the course in this price range), but in a nice surprise, it’s not overwhelming, and the speaker can get quite loud for something so small. Anyone looking for a massive bass sound will obviously need to spend more money, but those seeking a speaker that can project a good deal of volume from a small frame will be pleased.
