Based on Intel’s X99 chipset and retrofitted with technologies to help maximize to potential of Intel’s Core i7 X-Series processors for the LGA 2011-v3 socket, the ASUS X99-A II ATX LGA2011-3  Motherboard has been created for gaming. It will fit into cases that support the ATX form factor.

The X99-A II has eight DIMM slots that can support up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM, or 16GB per slot, with a maximum overclocked frequency of 3333 MHz. It also supports a total of 8 x SATA III 6 Gb/s ports, 1 x SATA Express port, 1 x M.2 Socket 3, and will also support 1 x U.2 port. Regardless of whether this motherboard is equipped with a 28 or a 40-lane CPU, there is support for 3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slots, 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, and 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. USB connectivity is achieved using 1 x USB 3.1 Type-C port and 1 x USB 3.1 Type-A port at speeds up to 10 Gb/s, as well as 8 x USB 3.0 ports, with speeds up to 5 Gb/s. When equipped with a ThunderboltEX 3 add-on card, this motherboard will support bi-directional transfer speeds up to 40 Gb/s via its USB Type-C port, as well as the daisy-chaining of up to six devices, bandwidth for 4K UHD displays running at 60 Hz, and USB Power Delivery for high-power charging of up to 36W.
