Customer Reviews
PROS:
- As a graphic designer, 4 GB of RAM simply wasn’t cutting it when running nearly all of the Adobe Creative Suite is a daily thing for me. I went with this upgrade because Crucial was the most affordable brand (that I trust), and I’m overjoyed with the results. The RAM was immediately accepted, and the speed of my MacBook has increased by more than 200% when running (and multi-tasking with) highly memory intensive programs. Running Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign simultaneously is no issue at all anymore. Even when working with quite large files, I’ve yet to experience any lagging or freezing. Files that would take up to five minutes to load are now open and ready to edit within 10-15 seconds.
- I had only 4GB and i upgraded to this and i was AMAZED. I had instant results everytime. I also was amazed at how fast my gaming was and its great for school work. Especially good for Joshua Noonon. I also type so much faster.
- I installed this in my wife’s MacBook Pro (mid 2012; non-retina; MacBookPro 9,2) . Very easy upgrade. No issues. Memory instantaneously recognized, no need for ‘option command r p’. At the same time.
CONS:
- This is another set I purchased for another computer. They finally went on sale and I thought these would really beef up my speed and run better. But no help still running the same, Have a quad core and only 1.7 ghz processor. guess it’s to small. But all in all it did help from freeze ups. Crucial are still one of the better boards out, will continue to buy Crucial’s for my computers.
- My first bad experience with Crucial was In the summer of 2014. I bought two Crucial desktop modules in a kit and the system did not act up until the client took the unit home. The issue only presented itself when he played videos on YouTube… which resulted in a ‘blue screen of death.’ History repeated itself with these So-Dimm modules.Suggestion.. if you are building a system and you do not have spare modules to do an emergency swap.. or you are in a time sensitive situation.. I suggest you spend the extra money and go with a better brand.
