Customer Reviews
PROS:
- This card is really fast! I just tested it with a standard SDXC USB 3.0 reader, and I was able to copy a 2GB video clip from my PC’s SSD to the Lexar card at 71.2MB/sec. It took less than 30 seconds! Reading from the card was even faster, and I saw a continuous 85.4MB/sec when I copied the video onto another SSD 🙂 UPDATE: I just purchased a UHS-II USB 3.0 reader, and the write speed went up to 81.3MB/sec. The read speed was much higher, at 143MB/sec.
- I have a Panasonic DMC-LX100 which can record 4K 30p video at a 100Mbps bitrate and sometimes recording would stop with an error saying the card’s write speed cannot keep up. This happened with a $28 PNY Elite Performance SDXC 64GB UHS-1 90MB/sec card so I got this Lexar SDXC 128GB 150MB/sec UHS-3 card and it works perfectly for 4K 30p. UHS-1 guarantees a minimum write speed of 10MB/s while UHS-3 has a minimum of 30MB/s which is probably where a UHS-1 card falls down for 4K.
- Lexar Professional 1000x 128GB UHS-II SDXC Card is fast, reasonably priced and works faultlessly for my Sony A7RII recording 4K video.
CONS:
- Had the card for about a week, Took about 200 photos on a Lumix g7 camera and was told the memory was full on a 64GB card. Took out he card moved the photos to my computer and re-formatted the card. Put in back the camera and it worked for about 150 shot and then gave a memory full error again. This time I shut down the camera and pulled out the card, then re-inserted it, put the battery back in and turned on the camera and it worked for a while. I then got a can’t read the card error. I’m returning this card and will go back to Sandisk cards.
- This memory card is a replacement for the same card that failed the first time I used it on a week-long vacation. Luckily it failed on the last day, and my camera has a backup CF card. This does concern me about the reliability of the two 128 GB Lexar cards I am currently depending on, although I do have other Lexar cards that have never had problems. Hoping this one was a fluke.
