Marshall Acton Speaker with Bluetooth – Cream
The Marshall Acton Speaker with Bluetooth with a well-balanced audio boasting a clear midrange and extended highs the Acton gives an experience that is both articulate and pronounced. The external box is large and heavy at 15 x 9 x 8.5 inches. The quality of this product is apparent as soon as the lid of the box is raised. There are three analogue knobs for volume, bass and treble. I was a disappointed that the dials do not go all the way to 11 as they do on the Marshall fridge in my office. The quality and sound more than makes up for it.The sound is really good. 41W Class D output means this speaker is very loud. The knobs adjust the bass and treble to deliver the exact levels you like. This is the only Bluetooth speaker I have tried with adjustable bass and treble knobs. The sound quality is good both over Bluetooth and stereo jack across a range of music. From bass funk and rock to midrange songs it is well balanced and clear. For analogue and retro fans, the knobs allow you to tweak the sound to the levels you like.
- Classic Marshall design – Vintage look with traditional front fret, gold-coloured metal details and that iconic script logo.
- Compact frame – Same powerful sound in a much smaller package
- Mighty bass – Carrying on a long-standing tradition of loud
- 3 analogue interection knobs – Fine tune sound to exactly how you like it
- Bluetooth connectivity – Stream music directly from your smartphone, tablet or computer, no wires involved.

- This is the best, BEST, bluetooth speaker out there. Seriously. It sounds like a whole sound system (equivalent to a really good stereo setup from the 80s, for example). Good, good sound. Quality build. Really high quality, tactile analog controls to tailor sound. Simple, effective bluetooth pairing (bluetooth distance may be its only weak spot, keep the device handy). I use it with my iPad and my iMac and both work wonderfully with it. Full volume will totally rock my New York apartment (which is on the larger side for NYC). For the price this is a no-brainer. Much fuller, deeper (more analog) sound than you get from similar models from say Bose, for example. It really makes my digital files almost (not quite, but almost) sound like vinyl.
- At high volume it was decent, but I live in an apartment, so I can’t crank it up very often. It sounds great with everything I throw at it, classic rock, hip hop, pop, EDM, country, talk radio. And best of all, it sounds good at all volumes. If I just want easy low background music, no problem. If I want to shake the walls, no problem.
- The speaker is beautifully packaged and presented upon arrival. The cream vinyl exterior is absolutely beautiful as is the gold trimming and face of the speaker. I can’t imagine it looking bad anywhere. The sound that it produces really is amazing. I had the high-end Bose Sounddock 10, which itself is a wonderful speaker. But the major difference is the clarity and “live” feeling of the Marshall. The bose almost feels to polished, and thus a little muted. This speaker hits all of the bass notes that every hip-hop head wants (such as myself). If there is one word to describe the sound this speaker produces it has to be balance. This also applies for hard hitting rock songs, such as “Numb” by Gary Clark Jr., a favorite of mine. I have never heard the steel of the guitar strings like that on a stand alone speaker. On the Woburn, you can always hear every instrument, vocal, and even the little strains in your favorite singers voice that you never heard, that extra emotion that you only get when you are at a live show. It truly is a remarkable speaker.
- I haven’t been able to play it yet so all I can say it looks the part. This speaker is beautifully boxed with the curly cable earphones and 2 plugs in the box- unfortunately there is an eu 2 round pin cable and a U.S. 2 flat pin cable but no UK plug and no advice if a transformer is needed. An nasty adapter will rather take away from the stylish item. As a replacement transformer type cable and plug is pricey any cost saving compared to other suppliers will be more than lost. Sound of silence- It arrived quickly and I will update this review if a UK plug is supplied.
- I was impressed with the Packaging and make. Love the old school design and the deep bass. I noticed however, that the Bluetooth range keeps dropping even though my comp is stationary and less than 3 meters away. I also noticed that I I could feel the electricity whenever I switched it on.
- First the bluetooth pairing is very titchy, then it just stops working. No power. I should have read reviews on other sites — it’s a very common issue. Mine conveniently stopped working right after the return date expired. BEWARE!
