Born in San Diego, California, Rebecca Minkoff’s first love was the art of design and she began sewing at the age of eight. Although Rebecca’s handbags have been a hit among the stars and women all around the world, she began designing clothing at the age of 18. She launched her clothing line in 2001, but it wasn’t until her good friend and actress Jenna Elfman asked her to design a handbag for her next movie that the “Morning After” bag was born. This is a lovely bag, with soft, rich-feeling leather. The drawstring secures the bag well—this was my main concern when I was shopping for a bucket bag, and I feel very safe carrying my essentials in this. While the bag is not large, it is big enough to hold a long wallet, a sunglass case, a phone (both iPhone 6 and 6 Plus fit easily), a lipgloss tube or two, and a set of keys—all without looking stuffed or feeling too heavy. The studding detail on the sides adds some visual interest, without looking overdone. The image here on Amazon shows the bag worn as a cross-body, but I think it really looks much better over the shoulder—the strap is adjustable (two possible lengths), and at either length it is short enough that it feels secure against the body.
